Doing a leak down and compression test tonight....

Yesterday I got in my car, warmed it up, then drove through a parking lot, when I was waiting to make a turn on the main street I noticed my car smoked white when I hit the gas (I believe it happened twice).. It was a pretty big puff of smoke. After that it didnt do it again. Its fine today too.. Dont know whats going on...

White smoke or steam? Could it have been condensation from the cooler humid weather we've had recently?

So, I'll be installing my downpipe next weekend and wanted to solicit some input from others who have done it. A lot of sites say to just re-use the stock gaskets, and as it happens I do not know where to go to get replacements anyway. Can't seem to find part numbers for OEM replacements, nor locate anything on NAPA, Autozone, etc. Anyone see any possible issues with just re-using everything that's on there, and does anyone know where I can source new gaskets if needed?

See if you can get the smoke to happen while at a stop.if it's coolant it'll smell sweet.smell for gas fumes as well.I flooded my engine once with fuel and when it cleared out it puffed white smoke like crazy but you could smell the gas fumes

Makes sense...lots of people probably get cash back with gas to dodge the fee the check-cashing store charges.

not really. i was using my card, and i am in there EVERYDAY! i can understand no check or something, or no check for cash back, as Fridays are when people get paid and they try to "float" a check over the weekend or something, but an every day customer using a debit card that wants a 20 back? really...
