It's down in Tucson.Initially there were gonna be about 12 cars cruising down there to meet up with the tucson guys but myself,Evo fire and Tundra are putting his car back together.

Ya just gotta make sure the timing chain is on spot on the crank gear then get everything buttoned up and get her timed.just gonna be time consuming

 

a bunch of us were gonna cruise to Tucson for a Saturday night meet and greet. But since Monica is out of commision, we are tasked to get her running first. So the main players in the cruise to Tucson are probably not able to go.

Take the timing cover off and do it after the head is bolted up. Then you can visually see the spot on the crank gear and the colored links on the cam gears match and there is no way it has moved.

I would put it all back together until the valve cover has to go on chain tensioner and all before I close the covers..

 

yeah im thinking saturday we will start buy taking the the timing cover off, then bolting on the head, and getting everything else buttoned up, turbo, exhaust, and all that. get the chain on and timed, tensioner on and engaged, then rotate the **** by hand. then button up the covers.

 

This^ Then you know for sure its good.

Also remember that when you rotate if completely the colored chains may never line up again.. Well not for another like 1000 revolutions.

 

yup...we got that down the other night chris...lol as long as nothing is hitting and we know the tensioner is engaged so we dont jump teeth, then we will be good to go.

we will be starting things at tylers house around 930 i think is when we decided. bring krispy kreme...lol too early for beer, and we already have a bunch of that and a gallon+ of other good stuffs

 

and an extra set of hands to get that head on would make it a lot easier...its probably 70 lbs fully dressed with the turbo and manifold still on.
