Dunno if I've posted about this before here, but my car has been out of commission since Nov 20th after I got rear-ended and pulled the engine to build it right.
The remaining Engine parts arrived today. Now it's all up to the machine shop, NRGY Heads and the ceramic coating shop. Probably another 2-3 weeks out from having all of the parts ready to be assembled.
But here's some pictures for ya:

No Engine

New Oil System - DCR windage tray, Oil Pump and Oil Pump Pickup.
Also shown is the DCR Billet Straps for the Bed Plate.

DCR Modified BedPlate

Crower Billet Rod

Repaired by the body shop

Side View, last time it will be Black.

New Color, Kandy Rootbeer. This was painted on an old 1st Gen Hood I had. The bottom left corner was left black for comparison.

New Color, Kandy Rootbeer. With the flash on you can see how the paint changes color depending on how the light hits it.

2 questions 1) I hope you had insurance, please say you had that insured? 2) Why do you need a roll cage? Does it run 6's or something. If that is your everyday driver, that rollcage is going to suck getting in and out of everyday!
how much did the cage cost ?and what did they make it out of ?
that color should look pretty sweet
if your trans is stock , didnt the 03 come with-OUT a lsd ?
the car should be very fun to watch going down the track i cant wait to see it

I had insurance as did the gal that rear-ended me, her insurance picked up the tab.
It needs at least a 5pt roll-bar because it runs quicker than 11.5, I put the cage in it because I'm expecting w/ the addition of the nitrous and the built engine it'll be trapping > 135mph (probably will be trapping mid-low 140's) the NHRA (and most tracks) require a full cage @ 135mph.
It is my everyday driver and getting in and out isn't THAT bad. Although, I will probably retire it to a semi-daily driver and start car-pooling w/ the wife more.
Comp Chassis did the cage. It was $1200 for the cage, IIRC, they wanted $650 for a 5pt Bar. I had them make it out of mild steel rather than chromolly. Chromolly would have increased the cost and has to be "maintained" as it is prone to cracking. We estimated that using Chromolly would have saved about 50lbs worth of weight... Just not worth it on a street car; I can cut the twinkies from my diet and lose 50lbs.
My transmission is a Stock 2004 Transmission, which came with the LSD. 2003 was the only year w/o the LSD. Still nothing has been changed internally to "beef up" the transmission.

How much power are you expecting out this thing?!?! Like 600? My dad and I had a '63 Nova race car with a mild 355 alchohol motor that dynoed 553 hp to the crank. The car weighed 2800 lbs and best run was 10.23 @ 129.
