I finally got the HHR tuned and made a couple 1/8mi passes before the track got rained out. The tune dropped my 1/8mi et by nearly a second. I might try to make it down to Roswell Friday to see what kind of 1/4mi times it will put down now.

 

Sweet keep us updated. What did you do in the 1/8?

 

Where did you run th 1/8th mile at ?
Don't expect Roswell to be much better, traction issues with street tires.
I'm back from SoCal and will be going to Amarillo soon I hope.

I ran 1/8th in Kentucky while I was there on vacation last week. Ran a 9.04 @ 81 mph. Not great but that's a lot better than my best of 9.90 that I got on the stock tune. I really need to get some better tires for the the front. I'm still running the stock Michelin's and they are killing my 60' times. I'd much rather go to Amarillo but they don't have a test n tune scheduled until June 1st.

 

Hobbs has a TNT this Friday as well.

 

I like that Roswell is having some friday night street challenges, street car bracket racing for 5 bucks !
Looks like it will be into June before I am ready to go, broke my car going to SoCal last week

The incident took out the steering intermediate shaft, the strut tower bearings and maybe control arm bushing, we'll see this weekend for sure. So as I figure it out and get a bit of WOT tuning I'll be ready to go.

Roswell= nice facility, all paved, no traction at least last year.
Amarillo= excellent traction, nice facility, gravel lot (street tires pic up rocks, cost me $300 for a windshield last time I went)

Yup Nal, the HHRs got Michelin MXM4s from the factory and they are garbage. From what I've read from other guys, just about any it is an improvement over these thing. Cherry, funny you should mention Amarillo costing you a windshield. The same thing happened to a friend of mine's VW a few weeks ago when we ran up there. Looks like I'm not going to make it to the track tonight after all. Keep me posted when any of you guys decide to go. I'm just about always up for it.

Yeah. His happened in the shutdown area. The car he was running against hit a pothole in the shutdown area and kicked up a big rock.

 

Hey i actually just moved to NM after getting out of the Air Force so im new here, any one in the abq/ los lunas area, I have friends that are telling me theres an all balt crew in abq but ive never seen em.
