take it from a local man, i've had like 3 intakes, this would be by far the best one.

injen sucks brandon fujita flows twice as good. ottp would be a good choice too. the aem connects to the stock upper intake piping not sure if i like that since the upper piping is restrictive

let me rephrase that in comparison to most aftermarket intakes.

 

yes, you are correct. i believe OTTP's fits good on 07's, but all others will rub the brake lines on an 07' SS/SC. I also had the Rebel 3" Intake & XTC intake on my car and both had poor/tight fitment. I love my AEM intake better than any other intake i had on my car. Also, i noticed no power dif. between any of the intakes i had on my car. They all produce about the same hp gains

 

its not a short ram it goes into the fender well it just connects to the stock upper pipe. which is why i think they consider it "CARB" legal cause it looks stock from above

Yes ... ZZP's is aluminum and Rebels is stainless. Also, they will have dif. fitments due to dif. designs .... as for hp dif. prob. none at all. I loved my Rebel intake, but it just didn't fit very good on my 07'. I had to slightly bend the brake lines down to get it to fit. Even though it was designed on an 07' SS/SC .... Go figure !!

Correct .... AEM's intake is a cold air intake. The AEM intake only replaces the restrictive factory air box/paper filter. It only replaces those items, because AEM concluded during testing that there were no additional gains by replacing the "upper piping" of the factory SS/SC cold air intake with a full aluminum intake. AEM dyno tested their intake, and it produced about a 9hp increase. You can find these results on their webpage. Deny dynoed his AEM intake on his Cobalt SS/SC a while back, and gained about 8 horsepower & 6 lb-ft torque.

fujita has better numbers http://www.f5air.com/images/dyno/ca1...obalt%20ss.GIF and as far as fitment goes other than cutting the piping to the filter it was just really tight but it still fit without bending anyt brakelines

From my experience with intakes for the SS/SC I would recommend a stainless one. My Injen had a hole rubbed in it and is now located at an unknown junkyard.

I have a Rebel one and have not had any problems with it. However there have been some issues with this company so I would suggest getting one elsewhere.

You can't go wrong with OTTP IMO
