Thursday Nights Irwindale 1/8 Mile Drags...THIS IS A SOCAL THREAD ONLY PLEASE
Thier inspections are not too bad, but if you are barely idling through tech and sound like a V8 with an open dump you might have a problem. Or in other words, I wouldn't worry about it. I saw one of the red Cobalts but didn't get a chance to track anyone down, then saw one leaving early. I think the Evo I posted about earlier did toast something on our run. I was at the finish line and saw it barely down the track. They screwed up the lights or timing on that run, which was probably my best of the night, and I didn't get a slip. Overall too busy and too expensive as usual.
To put it this way, a heavily modified Mustang was in front of me and they looked under the hood and noticed something didn't meet NHRA specs. They gave him a warning and let him pass. A few cars had moved forward and I asked the guy if he wanted me to move my car forward and he said yes. I dropped the hood on my SRT-4 and he didn't even ask me to open it back up. You shouldn't have any issues.
If you've ever been to Auto Club Speedway/California Speedway/Fontana/whatever-they're-calling-it-this-week a lot of the same guys tech at both tracks. Both are pretty lenient at street legal events.
