New header & down-pipe sale!
It is strictly there to check the emissions system, specifically the catalytic converter. If it doesn't read leaner than the primary O2 or doesn't read at all, you will set some emission codes, but they can be disabled via HPT and have no effect on performance.
Italianjoe is right on the money. Thanks Joe.
I just spoke to Kelby and confirmed what Joe posted.
Just to clarify:
the front O2 sensor is what the PCM (computer) uses to adjust the air/fuel ratio. The rear sensor is to tell the PCM the cat converter is present and functioning properly. For those who deleted their cat converter, we do NOT provide the rear O2 bung as it is pointless. You will need to either install O2 simulators or have the rear O2 sensor turned off in the PCM with custom tuning.
Also,
I am re-posting this from page 33, 35, etc...
For everyone else who ordered their down-pipe with the slip fit factory flange, I wasn't sure what your plans were so we left them loose. They are a tight fit and we would simply hold them together with a small weld which could be ground off later. What I'm getting at is, if you have your header and down-pipes installed at a shop, do NOT let them do a full weld at the slip. Otherwise you will have to cut the down-pipe later when you up-grade to a 3" exhaust. Instead, have them do a small spot weld on one or two sides. Or you could use a slip style clamp. (Clamp was not included).
We shipped another 5 or 6 orders today and will continue to build and ship your orders daily.
Thanks again everyone.

Seriously though
Yay! Do I get a cookie??? I really could go for a big chocolate chip cookie right about now...
Seriously though
I've run a 3" catless DP for about 2 years and never had any issue with the rear O2, mine is plugged in, but it was throwing p0420 codes. I used HPT to turn off the CEL for that code, basically the car knows that its not right but it won't turn on the light because I told it not to. Has no other impact on the car.
Seriously though
UP-DATE:
All 4 into 1 headers will be ready to ship Monday. I got all the ports shaped tonight.
One TRI-Y header is complete and pwnding test fitting on a car. The other two will be built as soon as we check the O2 bung.
All ceramic coated headers are done and I pisked them up today.
We will ship as many header/DP combo's as possible Monday and Todd will finish up on the down-pipes shortly. If all goes well, every single header/DP order will be shipped by the end of next week.

I assume you email us a tracking/confirmation number when our order ships?
Dan you said you have 1 5/8 headers that you overbuilt and were trying to sell. What is the difference here? I am lost with the header combos so what is the price of a header/dp with cat now?
The headers we have available due to over-building or cancellations:
Four 1 3/4" 4 into 1, raw, no velocity cone.
One 1 3/4" 4 into 1 with Velocity cone and Chromex Ceramic coating.
Three 1 5/8" 4 into 1, raw, no velocity cone.
All at the best GP price from page 1.
Thanks.
OK I know you do great work I just do not know if I nee the velocity cone or not or which size I need. Also could a dp be made with cat if I bought one? If not will these headers hook up to stock dp?
(425)251-0329.
Thanks again.
That makes sense for the US orders, but you quoted me shipping by USPS to Canada so that's why I was asking. Some US vendors don't send Canadian customers the USPS confirmation number because they don't realize it is also the tracking number. I've had the same situation with many US vendors and just want to double check I'll get the confirmation number. Thanks.

Beth should email whatever numbers we get.
Thanks.

Thanks Dan. I know it wasn't ready and I wasn't pressing you for an order update at all. I had also received a call from Beth today and I really appreciate it. I just wanted to confirm shipping method to Canada and forgot to ask her so I apologize. All I need is the confirmation number USPS provides when the shipment is processed. Thanks again.
Got mine and installed today its a nice piece of work. Can't really tell much of a difference in sound or power but im sure the dyno will!!! I know I prolly wouldn't notice much since we are just freeing up the air flow. Can't wait to do my full 3 in exhaust I just dunno what muffler to go with! Thanks again clear image

Glad to hear you guys have started receiving your packages.
If you have deleted your converter you will need to either install an O2 simulator or have the rear O2 sensor programmed off in the PCM. if you are going to pay to have it turned off, you might as well get the rest of the tuning done at the same time for even more power, etc.
Tuning specifically for a header isn't required. But here's some interesting info about our header design:
Your 2.2L header is a really nice piece of work. Ive been working with Jason S to remote tune his car using the GT Tuners new data logging feature. Your header increased airflow by 11% at 5500 RPM (proven), and dramatically reduced the engines tendency to spark knock. Id like to see some numbers but I bet your header gets even bigger gains on the 2.2L Cobalt then the Solstice.
Anyway, just thought Id let you know.

Trifecta Performance, Inc.
The header he is referring to is the 1 5/8" primary size. We were pretty happy to hear this.
Address should be on the shipping label. If not:
Clear Image Automotive
18817 East Valley Hwy.
Suite B
Kent, WA 98032
Up-date on shipping:
the remainder of the 1 3/4" header/DP combo's ship today.
We are waiting for a car to do one last test fitting of the TRI-Y header to confirm the O2 bung location. Of those, two are raw steel and will ship immediately. One is getting ceramic coated and will go for coating following final test fit.

Am I going to have to drag the test fitter down there?

^^^^ Yea, to the best of my knowledge, the cat codes won't impact driveability. However they will cause a CEL which can be removed with HP Tuners.
I am taking my car for a full tune on Sat! I will be getting a street tune from one of the good tuners around my area with my new LC-1 wideband. Hopefully the car will run much better. I am truly sick of the Intense Racing tune I currently have!
