I didn't cut off all the foam, just uncovered the two tips, but those were perfect. When I get it over the the shop next weekend to mount the thing I'll uncover the rest of it.
Ok, time for me to put my Tjin story out there, the good, the bad, the ugly.
The good, trunk arrived on indicated date! Packaging was very well done although the box took what looked like a beating, the product was almost damage free!
The bad, one of the corners was slightly scrapped, I am just going to do the nail harder trick on it and call it a day though.

The ugly, I can not get this trunk to line up with rear quarter panels no matter what I adjust! I did get the trunk to latch, so it is on the car, but there is no way to get the gaps spaced evenly or get the deck lid to be level on either side of the car. Pictures for better understanding are below.

So I am stuck with a dilemma, the corners look like they are what is interfering, see below.

It seems that if I shaved some material from under the corner it would shut further and maybe line up better, but I am not about to ruin a 600 dollar trunk!
Just so I am clear, I am not hatting, just wanted to share my experience with the group. I plan on getting in contact with ED to see what we can do to to resolve the issue.

That's just an alignment issue. The trunk mounting needs to be brought back slightly towards the back of the car and the trunk latch needs to be loosened and pushed down.
