spoilers on a fwd car makes little to no differance. this wing will likely case very little drag, as you don't need it really

they do cause down force fyi. I had GMPP engineer give me numbers of the CSS low pro vs high rise wings. And ya they don't do much until after 100mph...they do something.

NorthVibe, so which one DID have more down force? And, if available, how much?

From GMPP Bill

I finally came up with the wing numbers. These are reported in "deltas" or how much more force the big wing gives over the samll wing.

High Wing vs. Low Wing Deltas (all valves normalized for direction)
@155mph
115 lbs of rear downforce
8 lbs of front lift
19 lbs of drag or 8 hp

@120mph
69 lbs of rear downforce
5 lbs of front lift
12 lbs of drag

@100mph
48 lbs of rear downforce
3 lbs of front lift
8 lbs of drag

@70mph
23 lbs of rear downforce
1.5 lbs of front lift
4 lbs of drag or 0.73 hp

Powell was explaining to me how the high rise spoiler is crap until you fill in the rib on the underside.

the factory high rise is a piece of garbage. the gap underneath it causes it to vibrate at 75mph or more which eventually causes stall or no downforce being applied as it keeps releasing the air.

as for the tjin trunk. i dont think theres much if any aerodynamic benefit. the spoiler comes to far out on the sides and will cause more drag then anything. theres a reason why my spoiler was designed the way it is but to make it work properly it also needs rough strakes(which i have aswell). its also paired with a honeycomb carbon trunk.

nope. its a one off and its staying that way. it requires drilling across the entire trunk anyways. the only way more will get made is if someone forks over a GOOD chunk of change. it was a group effort between john powell, myself, and another company to do it. the trunk wasent made by me.

@omiotek this spoiler is very nice, great work.... however in my mind i cant help but notice how similar this spoiler is to the last generation of z24 spoilers..... with a lil cutting and sanding i wonder if one could custom up a z24 spoiler to achieve a similar look and results..... providing if the width is the same and curve of the rear deck lid.... any thoughts?

ive thought long and hard about using a lot of things and when it came down to it, it would of had to of been build this way.

realistically you can make ANYTHING work with anything. what it comes down to is weight, reliability, and how much work you put into something before you end up saying i should of started from scrach and made a better piece. you never wanna load up apiece with filler and such. i went with fiberglass because the carbon fiber weight difference was like .5lbs. not worth the extra cost and hassle making.

i wanted a functional spoiler. i have roof strakes for the car that will keep air on the roof and not allow it to escape over the sides of the car. they chanel from the roof down the glass and onto the blade spoiler. it was designed the way it is for a reason. i wanted something functional. not something that looks pretty and causes drag or like the factory high rise that causes stall.

Won't make them for cheap..... not enough money to be paid, or interest in them to justify making a batch on my personal time. I would have to have 20 made and its not cheap to do that and I'm not going to sit on them either. Its probably going to stay a one off.
