07 Cobalt Rear beam

Can/has anyone modded the rear beam to move the shock back farther towards the spring perch to reduce bouncing after going low enough that you've run out of threads on the shock bodies?

And yes, I have coilovers.

Any help would be appreciated...

Very true. I am more or less just wondering if anyone on here has done it.

we moved the shock forward at the lower mount to enable larger spherical ended shocks with 17 inch wheels on the race cars. Moving the bottom inboard towards the spring perch will not work the coils will hit the body. the bouncing is caused by no travel. U can fix that with relocated axle centerlines (dropped spindles is what its called normally) but its gonna take some money to do that.

the coil overs you use shorten the body to acheive the drop. Just preload the heck out of the rear spring, that will slightly lengthen the shock and you will improve the ride; and run the adjustment of you have it in the middle of the range - like at 6 if you have 12 clicks of adjustment. That way the shock will run in its best damping curve, the way they work its a crappy bleed orifice deal, and if you go either way from the middle range of adjustment you are either over damped or under damped. Hope this helps
