Adjustable sway bar links

was going to make some heavey duty sway bar links using himes joints and a piece of pipe so they wont go bad as fast and was thinking that they would be adjustable but would there be any advantage to adjusting them so as they are shorter just wondering

http://www.powergridinc.com/ It's my unerstanding that by shortening the length of the endlinks it makes the bar act asthough it is more stiff which for our application wouldnt be beneficial
