Advice on lowering products

I was thinking of lowering the TC........
Gonna need some serious opinions here.....or what youv'e heard....or whatever you can offer me.
I was told by my service advisor that coils overs are cheap and crappy.....unless I by specific good ones, by good ones he says a product that actually bolts to the upper strut area....as you can tell ive never lowered a car before..

I guess the cheap ones have rubber mounts at the top? anyways i was looking at the ARK coil overs, they have 2 types one with the pillow ball upper mounts and on thier website they go for 1699 bucks...these look like the "good ones" but im not sure.

Maybe they are bad quality parts...

So he said go with "good coil overs" or lowering springs...if i use the springs do i need to buy new shock s with that too??

Either way, let me here it please..say what you need to but I'm looking for advice that will help me out....specifically what are the good ones and which brand name rocks
thanks guysand uuhhh girls if yer out there.

New threads move fast...

Coilovers are a great way to go but there Pricey.

TC suspension is already great and the TC has pretty good quality Shocks, better then the SS/SC and the Base model's I hear so they take Lowering a little better then previous versions. I would suggest going out and getting a set of coil springs, either Eibach Sportlines, SSC, or one of the other brands that are out there and you should be set. I just received my sportlines yesterday and got the rears on. Need a buddy for the fronts.

Eventually your shocks may go, but I dont believe it happened to a TC yet. You may go 60,000 miles with your stock shocks, well never know untill peoples start to go, but none the less coil springs give you the drop you want for a good price and will last you a few years with no problems im assuming. If you can afford to go coilovers you will have the biggest drop and they will be adjustable. If your looking for a good amount of drop for less money, i say go springs.

I'm looking into the same as you swazzees - lowering a TC, but I doubt I'll have the money for coilovers good, bad or otherwise. I have no useful knowledge about coilovers for you... maybe try PMing someone who has a set in their sig or something?

I'm likely going to go with a set of Eibach lowering springs since they're cheap as hell and seem to have pretty good reviews by everyone. I'm just having trouble deciding if I should get sportlines or prokit springs. I don't want to drastic of a drop because I don't want to be inconvenienced too much, but I'd like to kill a bit of the wheel-gap.

Do you guys know how much of a drop the prokits will put on a TC?

(bump for swaz too, since i'm useless )

Idk what it would be on a TC but here's the general specs. : - Eibach Pro-Kit
Lowers Vehicle Front: -1.0 in - Rear: -1.6 in

Dont get the prokit. It wont lower your fronts any and will lower the rear .5 inch.

Go sportlines. It loweres good and leaves enough play that your ride will be fine. It isnt an inconvience at all just when you pull into parking lots with a huge bump, take it on a big angle. Thats all.

Yeah, I remembered reading that the ratings on the eibach site were for LS or LT and not the SS which sits lower anyways. I have a really steep driveway, and just don't want to rip my hair out everytime I come home

Like the guy above you said, drive the bumps and your driveway at an angle and you should be fine. go slow of course lol. But go eibach sportlines, its what i have and there awesome.

I have quite a good driveway bump too and i was debating not parking in the driveway b4 i got them, but i got anyways and i can make it into the driveway fine. You can get whereever you want to know you just have to teach youself how. The bigger the angle the better.

Yeah fair enough. I'll likely hop on the sportlines lowered-bandwagon. Well, one step at a time I suppose... I still have to get the car
