sorry, using my fone internet, but search for my green sssc in the pic forum. the title is 'pics of my green cobalt'. Or u can see it at www.cobalt-addiction.com...or at car domain.com. It was one of the top balts and its under my same screen name, kevinskobalt. i got my air ride from easystreet.com, affiliate of airliftcompany.com. I used to work there and they have a good product. The auto pilot digital system is great. 3 years no problems. you can view more pics of my balt in the gallery section of easystreet.com under Sema 2005 or by searching for the kit. Hope that helps

LOL, clearly you haven't done air ride much. The controller kits from EZ street are much better. some of the kits for selected vehicles aren't as good, but for the balt your better off with ez street.

you obviously only buy the bullshit your former employer sold you. first of all Universal air provides 2-Viair 480C compressors Easystreet only offers 1-Viair 380C with their kit, Universal Air offers 1/2" valves with 1/2" hoses and line and Easytreet package only offers 3/8" with 1/4" hose. that is just head to head comparison. easystreet allows you to upgrade but at a much higher cost.

so, right off the bat the air management is not only quicker but much more durable. as far as switches the Easystreet kit offers the air controller, but honestly is not that great. i have been building bagged vehicles since 1998 and the Universal Air kit holds its own against Easystreet any day of the week as far as the price and quality, not to mention more drop and faster response at a better price.

A digital controller is nice, but any novice would be able to figure out their ride height within a few tries. as far as raising the vehicle to ride height on start, anyone with a halfway decent electronics experience, a few relays, and some know how can make the same thing happen. If all else fails, they can buy the Universal Air kit and the Easystreet contoller and have a faster system and Easystreet contoller for about $3K and not need to upgrade in the future. Universal Air is also known for throwing a discount if you call them up directly.

If you went Easystreet on the other hand you would need at least another compressor, 8- larger valves, and new air line. which is about another $400 and the upgrade for the digital air controller is another few hundred lets be conservarive and say another $400. so what are we looking at for the Easystreet kit that matches the Universal air kit with digital controller?

Universal Air kit w/Digi Controller=$3k
Easystreet kit w/Digi Controller, second Compressor, 8-1/2" valves, and 1/2" line= $3750

so, LOL

you may also purchase a Dakota Digital air controller that is simmilar to the Easystreet kit for only $300 more for the package which actually makes the kit cheaper at $2600 rather than $3K and much cheaper than $3750.

so, who doesnt know their airride?

yeah, why would it be an issue? the rear bumpers can be modified to house airtanks and compressors depending on what you buy. you can also mount them in the spare tire well and isolate the compressor from the body with a pliable rubber bushing to prevent heavy vibration.

you can also run a small engine driven compressor if you have the capability of build your bracket or having one built locally.

engine driven would be nice but i cant really add any more **** on my belt. plus my trunk is heavily insulated so under ther would be the most effective keeping the sound out. Im not worried so much about vibrations

you will be worried because the thing can make the whole car vibrate since we dont really have any isolation from the body/frame in unibody cars. still working on my hhr but a 2" strut raise and a new rear xmember and some minor cutting and it should lay flat on the rockers

true i would put it on brushings but overall it would make less of a difference in my car then it would normally

personally wouldn't do an EDC on the balt.

Most compressors on these kits are 100% duty and are capable of handling the elements. if you get a compressor with a filter, make sure the filter is pointing DOWN, not up. You just create a funnel for the compressor to suck up water.....yeah, youd be surprised what you see out there.

suicidedoors.com has some good compressors. don't only look at speed, look at PSI rating. i would rather have a slower compressor that can handle higher PSIs so you can have a higher pressure switch. that said, i like the ViAir 380 over the 450.
quest, you bring some valid points, and i agree to some extent. you have shown you do know a good deal about air ride, so i retract and apologize for my first assumption. however, i do disagree on some aspects, which ill go into in more detail later....when im not so flippin tired.
