alignment corrections
alignment corrections
anybody have access to an alignment correction calculation? i want to calculate the new alignment after using the progress springs. i want to know the numbers in hand before taking it to someone and telling them where to set it. otherwise, they would just set it to stock.
i would just try and set it myself good ole' make shift way, but i have absolutely no flat ground here to do so.

There aren't alignment corrections, stock is where you want it.
Camber = The angle that the tire sits perpendidular to the road.
Caster = It is the angle between the pivot line that runs through the center of the upper ball joint to the center of the lower ball joint.
Toe = If the tires are point toward each other or away from each other.
The closer to stock these settings are the longer your tires will last.
If youre autocrossing you can have them use more Negitive Camber, helps with cornering but wears the inside of the tire faster.
0 degree toe or slight toe out helps even more with tight corners, but can make the car feel nervous and twichy at hiway speeds.

without the alignment kit there is no way to change the alignment. they can slot the holes on the tops of the struts for camber (or is that caster...) but thats about it.
I don't know why everyone thinks they need an alignment after changing the springs, you don't. its idiot proof. I got a free alignment check and its right where it should be, since i couldn't have messed anything up if i wanted to.
I can only speak for the 2.2's. maybe the ss's have some adjustment but i would be shocked to find out they do.
