DAMN yea i dont know what a custom coilover is
but so you think i should just get the coni yellows and some lowering springs?
but then id have to have strut mounts and those ***** are gay

the point of coilovers is for the adjustable dampening and being able to change your ride height
why is that not good for handling? and why is it not as good as stock shocks and struts?

yeah like i did some quick math if you get konis front and rear with pedders your looking at about 1,000 with shipping why not spend an extra 100 or so and get the kw coilovers ya know?

kw uses koni shocks right?
you think that would be my best bet over bc's or stances or pedders?

and im assuming you mean variant 1 or 2 the cheaper one right? those are pretty bad ass?

NY cobalts represent!

he didnt mention k1 variant 2....the variant 1 isnt much better then the rest.

you dont need koni struts......fe5 ones will be more then fine for most people. wangspeed tracks his car a lot and is an experienced driver. he needs more then what they offer where as most people here without a doubt dont. so the best budget combo fe5 struts with pedders and a hardcore bar. you wont regret it

Yes, there is really any way to determine the best coilover. First need to know the budget and then if you're taking the car to the track often on once in a while, or if it is just a dd. Then the best coilovers (maybe) can be determined

X2. It took me over 2 years to finally get my Stance CO's. After looking at each CO and weighting pros/cons, they were my best option. Couldn't be happier with them.

So does anyone actually have the KW's? I'm on the fence about them because I hear a lot of praise, but have seen no one who actually has them.

Do they track them??? I think the stance look pretty good and the census says the Pedders C/O's are not good. I just want more than what the SS/TC Pedders springs combo can offer. I like to be able to fine tune a vehicle to my driving style.

Someone needs to step up! AST will make you a set of 5100s without springs for $3k.

coilovers should be judged on multiple things....valving, materials used, spring rates etc etc. not weather or not you can afford them because thats no ones fault if you cant. you get what you pay for...

look at the guys that have broken k sports...theres no way in helli would buy them....then you can get ok street coilovers for 900-1100.....any decent and or GOOD coilover is 2k+

in all honesty i think you threw your money away. i told you to just buy the springs but you threw that advice right out the window.

BUT

lets see here....you wanted drop, your not seeing as much track time as me, you wanted to get low......i told you buy stance because they were cheaper and i think better then the pedders. you didnt listen and bought the pedders. do i think you made a bad decision for what you want? its not the worse decision you could have made BUT i think you could have saved a couple hundred and got stances or hsd.

It's ok, my intention was to lower the car, and the pedders springs on FE5 struts.... it wasn't my choice. Because at that point I was going to keep the BCs that I have on my other cobalt. I mean, I will take the car to the track but not that often. I mean, is there a huge difference between pedders and stance? I was able to buy new pedders with camber plates for $ 1250

My question is. Won't a pedders spring and TC strut combo affect the life of the strut?

I don't know the specs on the TC's shocks and struts but they are far superior to the SC's or FE3's. Reason why everyone upgrades to them. I would think the Pedder Spring/TC Shocks and Sturts combo would actually last longer. Stronger shocks and struts, stronger springs, thus less play and longer life...

I ran Sportlines on my Stock FE5 SC for over 25,000 miles and never had a problem. I've seen people blow a strut at 5,000 though.
