Brake dust shields. Any difference?
Hey guys, just converting my rear brakes on my g6 to the ss/tc brembo stuff. Anyone know if there is any difference in the rear brakes at all? I bought all the stuff for the swap but didn't even think about the dust shields. If there is no difference ill just get the regular stuff. I can't for the life of me find brembo specific part numbers if there are any.
there are dust shields on the rear of an LSJ but none on the LNF.
Dont worry about it.
Dust shields are okay as far as they go, but they tend to be a wash for a performance car as it traps moisture on the inside of the rotor if the brakes arent used hard, and trap heat if they are used hard.
Particularly in winter conditions, long term, the inside rotor surface(dust shield side) will get corroded and brake performance may suffer, while the outside rotor surface ( wheel side) will be nice shiny and good looking.
