Brake Rust

It has been raining here, (Indy) off and on for about a week now. I have noticed if my Cobalt sits more then a day, the front rotors rust over. Then when I drive off, they
squeal until all the rust is gone. Does anyone else have this problem too? I know it isn't harmful......but it's ugly to look at.

Its normal in humid conditions. Only thing that might help would be zinc-coated rotors. You'd still probably get some rust on the rotor face, though.

Just about every car that has steel rotors will experience this. Mine sits at work for 8 hours and has this on humid days. Overnight just about every night my brakes are coated, and they have to scrub off each time. Annoying, but nothing you can do if it is humid / park outside.

I noticed my back brakes groan pretty bad in the AM when I back up, and the dealer can't repeat it unless they let it sit overnight. Said there's nothing "wrong" with the brakes and didn't do anything about it.

With open sopked wheels, you'll notice this more than other cars without.
