Brembos on 2008 Sport Coupe
Brembos on 2008 Sport Coupe
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but, I just registered here and was looking for a direct answer. I did a quick search and found some info on topic, but, not any direct info to say whether it can be done or not.
I have a 2008 Cobalt Sport Coupe, 4-door. It has the wider, 5 spoke rims (17's i think). I was just wondering if I could install the 2008 SS Brembo calipers, rotors pads, etc. on the fronts to replace the stock ones as a direct bolt on.
I did a brake conversion on my 2002 Camaro SS, where I installed the Z06 calipers and larger rotors. I had to purchase a relocation bracket that moved the location of the Z06 caliper further out to accommodate the larger corvette rotors. But, it was easy to do and they not only look awesome, but, grab like crazy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

thank you steddy for the quick reply......thats what I kinda figured.
I do like the stock SS rims, how much are they roughly?
Is that "all" that is needed for the conversion to the brembos in the front? just the required calipers, rotors, etc. and the larger rims? otherwise, its a direct replacement?
has this been done before by anyone in the forums?
thank you

But brackets, rotors, lines, iono if you would need the ABS module out of an LNF too or not.
Usually you can find a set of used SS/TC rims in fantastic shape for 500-1000 bucks.
They are forged, and a **** ton lighter than the 17s.
If you didn't wanna pony up the cash on the rims, you could run spacers, TC peeps are using the SS/NA rims as winter wheels with small spacers.
hmmm, considering its my daily driver and i'm getting married soon, I guess I should just leave well enough alone. Although, i'm still gonnna look at the 18s.
Thanks for the help guys
