Coilovers
All coilovers are adjustable. I have stance coils and I don't mind the ride quality. Honestly, it's not much rougher to me than lowering springs, but I think others say that BC has the best ride quality
You should be able to find a ton of information searching on this site. Just stay away from Megan coils and anything else that is very cheap. I'd start here:

The softest setting is about stock tc. While the stiffest is like you riding on bricks haha but it's all in what you're after so having that much control is awesome
If you want one of the best kits available for the Cobalt, can't go wrong with the KW Variant 2's.. There is another really nice set on a site I can't think of at the moment but it's even more then the KW's (by another $1000 if I'm correct if they still sell them).
I am debating coilovers since I don't have the necessary tools to cut open my struts to insert Konis nor do I really feel like getting the necessary tools to be honest. It sounds like BC coilovers are the most widely used set but does anyone have thoughts on KW Variant 1's? Unfortunately I was going to get Bilstein but Tire Rack no longer sells the front struts oddly enough and now they are not even on Bilstein's US website. Oh well. I will probably just going with BC but wanted to gather thoughts.
most people run stance or bc nowadays. I personally have Stances. Custom 9k/8k Rates. They're good stuff.. definitely stiff tho. I don't mind.
my buddy ran kw variants on his old vdub... they're nice quality coilovers for the price. they're aren't as popular in the cobalt world but the few people I know running them have said positive things.
