Coilovers, and things that go with low

So i've been looking around here about going low, and i keep seeing things about locking rings in the coilovers? i have zero idea what those are..

And i have also noticed a rotated trans mount? whats the point behind this? can anyone explain show me before/after pictures of this mount? and best one to pick up

Rotated mounts are made to align axles and to put less stress on them I believe, and also to get less wheel hop.

Locking rings are used to adjust the coilovers, most companys use a allen bolt to lock in the collar. Trans mount will help wheel hop.

people take the locking rings out of the rear to make it lower, its just a threaded insert thingy that allows you to adjust the height

if you arent low, remove a ring. I have no mounts and am fine. Also rack spacers is a common part of going low, but I dont use them

steering rack.

When you lower your car you change the tie rod end angles, inducing bump steer. Rack spacers help restore that angle and remove the bump steer.

John Powell sells steering spacers, though you'll need to know how low you plan on going so that you can get appropriately sized spacers. If you get the one size fits all version you stand somewhat of a chance of making it worse. And to be honest, unless you're really going amazingly low you'll probably not even notice it. Your tire wear will though.

after some looking and some reading, looks like the trans mount helps in the end, nothing major but it'll help so good investment in the low process just cause, as the spacers go, they have a .5" difference so if you get springs thats an easy choice, but with coilovers i'd get those first and see what your comfortable with as far as low goes then order...

In regards to the steering rack spacers will one set be sufficient. I believe it may be a pair that you buy or is it single

i heard somewhere about the 5mm spacers that crate engine has helps when you go low, is this true?

per the rack spacers i might just order 1"-2" and the 2"+ set just to be safe and i never know if i'll adjust it or not..

the 5mm spacers are for clearance of the brembo calipers, u can use them low or not

mainly the brembo guys run them to gain the space

i have them in the front to have some clearance on my struts as im low and have some camber

they are a bit pricey and i only really needed the front haha

if u want them all around it will give it more of an agressive look, subtle as 5mm isnt that much

humm well i was going to jack the PN off crate engine, along with the numbers for the extended lug bolts, and go through my dads work to get them...

it sounds like it'll look alright with some camber and a bit of space... so long as i dont go so low to where i need to roll the fenders...

oh and if it helps i am looking at getting the Megan street coilovers?
