Didn't cut bumpstops

Lowered my girlfriends car (cavalier)...i didn't cut the bumpstops in the rear because they were a pain in the ass to get to and it was like 100 degrees and humid out.

she says when she goes over a bump she bounces off her seat lol

is this the car bouncing off the bumpstops?

any feedback is appreciated thanks

Not enough info to tell. What type of springs did you put on? If they are very still with a high rate then any bump hard enough to compress them will also cause them to bounce up hard a split second later.

I would have to guess yes ! What kind of springs did you use ? What was the lowering height ? It's probably bottoming out on the stops and give her a very fun ride.

I believe Eibach states in their installation instructions not to cut them

on her car theres a spring boot with a metal cap and i couldnt get it off the strut. idk if there was a clip or something, but it wouldnt budge, and it needed to be taken off to get the bumpstops out...

its not like a cobalt lol at all. the rear suspension on her car looks like the front suspension on most cars. three bolts at the top that have to be taken off inside the trunk...its basically the same setup as our front suspension...but it was hard to get that boot off so i just said screw it.

lcav has a "chapman strut" it is like a macpherson strut the cobalt has at the front but no steering knuckle...colin chapman of Lotus fame invented it...dont cut the bump stop if you lower the car and drive fast over speed bumps your gf willhit her head unless her seat belt is tight....leave the car alone slow down over bumps its cheaper and easier...
