I think I've answered this for you before... but here we go again... a 215/40/18 has a 3.4" height sidewall... a 225/40/18 has a 3.5" sidewall... so it only adds .1" so it add's very little if any...

It's called aspect ratio... basically the aspect ratio is a percentage of the width... so a 215/45/17 tire will be 215mm wide the sidewall height will be 45% of the width. 215 x .45 = 96.75mm To get inches divide by 25.4... so that tire will have a 3.8" sidewall height...

Don't worry about it. That's why there are boards.

The factory Rosso's have a rim protection lip on them. Don't know how well it works and I don't care to find out.

What tire did you go with? Do you have any pics? Just wonderin if I should go with either 225 or 235. Another guy put on 235 and they lookes pretty good.

a 225 tire will stick out laterally relative to the rim. it will protect the rim better than 215.
