dropping my ride?

ive heard that if i bought lowering springs and put them on my stock strut that it would give me a really bouncy ride and **** the struts...

any advice will help

just got a set of 17s on 215 45 r17

and thought it would look good good with a nice 2in drop

and if its okay im gonna get a set but then i dont know how to install them...so im gonna need help or a place that i can get them done for me. and its a 2008 cobalt LS

thanks

-daniel-

ps. it cant mess up the car at all its an 08 and my mom will kill me if it messes anything up because its brand new and in her name

Well if u have never done it before, dont. let someone else do it for u that knows what theyre doing. Most of ur suspension will wear more quickly with a lowered vehicle. Your ball joints and wheel bearings along with the axles will be at different operating angles than what they were originally designed for. Its a give and take w/ lowering the vehicle so you have to be prepared to spend extra cash down the road on those, as well as other parts.

For the ls stock struts, id go get new performance ones right away. Just do a search here on css.net for the most common for ur model and then research it. U can probably get away w a little cheaper strut/shock set if u dont plan on autocrossing or road racing. Good luck w everything feel free to pm me if u have any other ?'s

leave it stock. when it's your car, in your name, you can do what you want. until that point, respect your mothers rules. 2 inches isn't going to happen without having to evenutally replace the struts.

there isn't gonna be that much of a difference in height if u install an ss suspension..it'll be like installing an eibach prokit...go with the sportlines if u want a discreet yet noticable drop and improvment in handling....

I've been lowered for about 45,000 miles or so on Sportlines. Still on the stock shocks/struts

Hey bud.

I have a 2006 ls. Installing springs is super easy. Ive done them on my car and about 4 other cars now. I have the progress springs and I got about a 2 in drop maybe alittle less but It was a good amount. Anyway. Search for how to install springs. I wrote one up and i know there are about two other good write ups. Heres a before and after of my ride for comparison. Also. I have been on the springs for quite some time now with no problems. You will fine on the stock struts.
