Dropping the wifes car w/out her knowing... I have a question.

Ok, so I'm gonna drop the cobalt soon. (1-1.5") I am looking for the "softest" ride coils. I searched and couldn't find any info on which is stiffest and which is softest. I want the closest to stock as possible. Can you guys give me some info?
thanks

Progress will give you a very nice drop; and keep the ride stockish

i'd go with the eibach pro kit that will give u a 1.6-1.8" drop i'm probably going to be using that or the sportline which will give u a 2-2.5"

Not on a sport.

The pro kit on a sport is nothing in the front and about a half inch in the back

Sportlines are about 1.3 in the front and 1.5 in the back

The Pro Kit only gives a significant drop on the base models.

for a real smooth ride you are gonna want to get coil overs.

That is because the lip kit on the SS's makes it look lower.

The sportlines are a tad harsh on bumpy roads. Put them on my 07 2.4 ss, not too long after buying it->the ride went from pillow soft to almost bone jarring. But compared to my GF's stock 06 LS sedan (25k) the harshness is almost comparable. The look and handling make it worthwhile to me. Just be prepared if you get them.

if you can find a set of goldlines, get those. They are not in production anymore though. I have them and love them, ride is better than stock.
