Drum shoe replacements?
Drum shoe replacements?
I'm buying replacement Hawk HPS pads for my front brakes tomorrow (4 lug 2.2). Any recommendations of what I should replace the drums with? Does anyone make performance drums? (I feel like performance and 'drums' is an oxymoron haha)
Do you need new "drums" as in the metal drum or new "shoes" the friction material inside?
GM drums are probably the best out there, its unlikely you need new ones yet.
If you want performance shoes they are absolutely available, I have Carbotech 1521 shoes in my car right now. Its also unlikely you need new shoes too though, they are really durable. If you do Carbotechs arent cheap, they run about $150.
Honestly, I would spend the $150 on Goodridge brake hoses and some ATE Typ200 brake fluid, make sure you clean, lubricate and adjust your rear brakes when you service your fronts.
