Question E-brake Problem

Here recently my cobalt's e-brake handle hasn't been working. It no longer ratchets and stays in place, it will instantly fall back down. I know physically it still works because if i hold the handle up, the car will not move even if on an incline. Anyone have some advice on how to fix it? Or should i just take it to the dealer?

Sounds like the ratchet assembly has failed (the handle). take it to your dealer have them look at it.
