front springs help!!!

I'm trying to replace my front springs and the top link nut won't come off! The whole bolt just keeps spinning and there's nothing to hold back on! Help!

Well i got the link off, but now i can't get the top nut on the strut assembly loose. My compressor sucks so my impact is useless and when i try to hold back on the set screw thing with an Allen wrench the vise grips i have holding the socket just slip. I sprayed the **** out of it with penetrating spray but nothing is working. I hate life right now

youre not reusing the struts right? if not, use a pair of vise grips on the strut rod through the spring.

for the top of the struts, i took a o2 sensor socket for the nut and then a hex with a small socet and a 3/8 ratchet for the inner. worked really well

I am reusing the struts. I got pedders so i think I'll be fine with the stock struts for a while. I was able to get everything with my impact and shitty compressor. Thanks anyway guys
