Grinding/humming/thumping noise

guys i have a problem!!!!

Im hearing grinding/humming/thumping noise coming from the front end of my car. The noise only occur between 0-40 mph, Im positive that its not the axles. To me these symptoms sound like a bad wheel bearing. I need some feedback!!!!!!!!

i have the same thing. i can only hear it when im cruising at around 35 mph on a smoothish road. sounds like someone knocking on the subframe or seomthing.

my vote is wheel bearing. but it may be the ball joint? who knows.

Being tuned has to deal with your Powertrain, since your concern is suspension wise, no, they should not give you any issues

Having the same issue!

It makes the car's front end sound like the tires are off, and the wheels are rolling bare. The faster you go, the louder it gets and the more thumping n vibe it has.

I have slowly been getting the thumping symptoms, but after a good canyon run last night. I started getting everything you described.

Get the car going at the speed where the sound is the loudest and then quickly swerve from one side of the road to the other. If there is a distinct stop in the noise when turning in a particular direction, then that would indicate a bad wheel bearing. When you put load on the bad one it should get louder and quieter when you decrease load on it. So if you turn left and it gets louder and quieter when you turn right, that would indicate a bad left wheel bearing.

It should be safe for a little while but I would get it to the dealership ASAP.

in for an answer but.... check your lca bushings... my left front has play in it which lets the left front tire move like a bad wheel bearing. my bearings checked out fine.

is it possible for the wheel bearings to be bad but not have play?

Well, if the sound goes away when coasting in neutral then it's not a wheel bearing, which are still in use in neutral. Sounding more like a transmission related issue.
