Lol in the winter time you are correct.

In the spring, summer, and fall I carve up and down the lovely country roads of NEPA every day (rain or shine)!!

the lovely roads lmao ... maybe the scenery is but the only carving i do on the roads is around the pot holes lmao

you know where Matamoras is right ? I lived 2 min away from there for the first 20 years of my life.

I know all the good/paved roads to cruise on. I'm an engineer for the state.

I know Matamoras well.

I'm sure you know the Matamoras truss bridge.... I inspected that damn bridge in a crane over the mighty delaware, lol. Lots of fun.

Also designed the plans for the rehab of its superstructure.

yeah my parents still live right outside Port Jervis (aka Dirt Jervis) idk if you familiar with that area.

i was just up there for thanksgiving and the construction they have on I-84 is horrrrible !! There redoing the bridge over the river

I-84 has been a mess for many years now.

I designed new superstructures for 10 of the bridges on that road. My project was completed this fall though. The new I-84 construction is nuts, because alot of the bridges are full replacements.

Here are some shots of the rear springs with the Tein silencer rubbers installed....





A member worried these might slightly increase the ride height in the rear.... There were no changes from installing these.

Staged07SS - I remember those coil wraps when I installed my Koni Reds/Eibach Sportlines kit on my '98 Z24 back in 2001. I started to peel them off when I realized that they were probably there to silence the coils from smacking each other, so I left them on!

Nice work on the stretched vs. compressed pics. Looks like you might need 1 more per side between the top 3 coils that touch maybe?

I might... we shall see. I chose the dead coils closer to the bottom due to them being spaced further apart than at the top dead coils. They are prob the ones making the clunking.

If there is some coil slap still, I'll by another $5 pack of silencers

I saw that lol

I'm at 67k... still pulls like a **** and stock clutch grabs like a MFer. Not sure how some GM stage 2 people were burning through their clutches back in the day since I'm prob 40+whp higher then they were and drive my car pretty hard

Doesn't matter though cause i got a daily driver now, the balt doesn't see much snow no more

I'm too **** to let it get beat up during winter driving.

I purchased it brand new with 23 miles on it. It has never served a winter, and has always been garaged. I've gone too far keeping it mint to let her go now, lol.

Yep, my stock clutch grabs just fine, and I'm 60whp+ higher than S2 cars.

I never "beat" on my car, even though I purchased her in my early 20's. I wanted an SS in the worst way when I was in college (they just came out then). Once I graduated and purchased my car, I treated her like she was a $23k piece of gold haha.

I never did burnouts trying to impress friends, launch at stupid rpms, or ride the clutch. It also helped that I knew how to drive stick before even buying the car.

I got my 7 years ago at car at age 17 and treated it like it was my pride and joy lol. I've raced it plenty, but I've never been one to do stupid things (like what you said, ride the clutch, do burnouts, etc.) just to show off or prove something. It saw plenty of trips to the strip at 300whp and 360whp on the stock clutch on slicks and it never slipped, not to mention all the street runs lol, I just decided to put a GMPP in it one winter. The car has had to sit down and handle business plenty of times, and has had tons of pulls, but I always keep up on maintenance and make sure the tune is spot on, and it has always treated me as well as I have treated it

Just goes to show that with a responsible owner and proper care, these cars will really hold up to some serious power and not even flinch! You've had your car since new and have cared for it every step of the way. I've had mine since 14k miles, so not quite new.

Took the car for a spin yesterday to test the tein silencer rubbers I installed on the rear springs.

Coil slap is next to eliminated. I went a head and purchased one more pak to add to the top dead coils.

I will report back after my final test run.

Good stuff. Hopefully those silencers last a while. It would get annoying having to swap them out every 6 months if you drive a lot.

I would think they would last a very long time.

Most spring manufacturers install these on dead coils.

I will keep you posted though.
