NO DO NOT TWIST THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a hammer and thread the nut back on flush with the end of the bolt and knock it loose, they have straight splines holding them in place.

No problem, I used a brass punch and a hammer so it didnt damage my bolts but it doesnt really matter. Oh and when sliding the spindle back into them when youre putting struts back in put a floor jack under the ball joint and jack it up to where you need it.

You have to jog it, the bolt at the top will spin with the nut, just keep jogging it on and off in 1-2 second bursts and it will come off, it may take a while though, to get that damn bolt off it took me about 20 minutes for the first and 15 for the second. If you move the dust sheild(plastic or rubber boot inside of the springs) you can watch it spin. My buddy has a 4th gen eclipse gt and when we did his we vice gripped the strut rod TAF so it wouldnt turn then wrenched the top bolt off since we didnt have air.

QFT I had to take mine to the gas station to have him hit it with the impact wrench. He said that that type of strut was a pain.
