beleive me guys these things are increadable, but you'll never see them at $1,500 the parts he uses are just to expensive, and you'll never be able to compare ANY suspension to it, because they use Bilsteins.

if you wanna read up on them, here's the link:
http://www.bilstein.com/tech.php?PHP...9b7b60afae3387

like I said if you want the best, you pay for it. there is a reason for the price differance, and it's not mark up. just ask anyone who has driven on a set of Bilsteins.

The best would be at least 4 way adjustable remote reservoir coil overs. These aren't it. I don't know a whole lot about car suspension but I know quite a bit about motorcycle suspension. Looks whats on the Cobalt Grand Am cars, it's ohlins and it's adjustable.

Sorry they are overpriced just like the rest of JBP stuff.

Right on. JBP is expecting people to shell out $2k for a kit whose ONLY adjustability is ride height. That's rediculous. If I'm paying $2k+ for coilovers, I want to adjust a whole helluva lot more than my ride height.

a coil over system with remote reservoir is not the best setup for track use. good , but in no way do they provide superior handling in comparison.
as far as 4 way adjustment, there is no need for it with this suspension. you can drop or raise your car as much as you like with out any camber issues, and the Bilstein dampener eliminates the need to adjust the dampening.

I'm definately right there with you and Zinner...I could never justify that kind of money for just ride height adjustability. I don't care if they were bilsteins or 24 karat gold.

Not everyone wants to run simply one set up. Ideally I would like to run 3...one on the streets, one on auto-x, one on the track. To me, if the Bilstein dampener is so good it makes it unnecessary to adjust the dampening for the track then it's entirely too stiff for comfortable street use. Also, I like to adjust the camber on the car as well...

The JBP set up is good for some, but not all. For me, it's far from ideal. I'm very familiar with Bilsteins and they're good shocks, but I want something more agressive for the road course. Plus I like being able to fully tune a suspension, not deal with what I've got to settle for from the manufacturer.

I know how they handle there multi dampening and it's definetly better than single rate dampening but it's in know what as good as adjustable dampening.

Lots of motorcycle have used the same multi dampening and it works based on fluid pressure, the more pressure the more dampening effect. It's not worth 2200 USD.

Cobalt Addicition is coming out with coil overs this month for less than half the price and they are adjustable ride hieght and they support the forum.

Has JBP, wait I mean you, tested there suspension on the track yet? It's pretty obvious by your signature that your a JBP ad.

don't get me wrong here, I know it seems like I'm just advertising here for them. That is not my intention at all. I'm just extremely happy with the product and do believe it's worth the money.

In regards to the coil overs, I'm meirly comparing these to other cars that I've driven with different systems, and the difference I've noticed is huge, that is also true to the opinions of various friend with different set-ups, on the cars, and they all say the same.

these coil overs provided close to stock quality ride comfort, yet still showed incredible stiffness, handling better then most of my friends with similar setup.
which is why I was stating there really is no need for adjustable dampeners, but that s just my opinion.

as for being able to adjust the camber, (for Auto-X) if you race that much, then I agree, these coils aren't for you, but for someone like me who's car is a daily driver in the summer and the winter, who likes to go to the track often enough that I felt the need to go to a coil over, i thought they were well worth the money.

and don't you worry I'll be at the track next week tearing up the corners as best I can, I can give you a review then, but i didn't feel it was necessary.

as for the rest of my JBP products, I have on my car if you read my posts about them , you'll see enough constructive praise and criticism in regards to each, take the cams as an example, I have told people all about the gains, but the problems I'm having as well. and have also told people to hold off on his cams because they will require tuning.

that is not exactly the best way of being a walking advertisement for a business by telling people not to buy yet. so please do not call me a walking advertisement, because I'm not.

I simply believe that it's a quality product, and they're local to me. and by my choice I've always chosen to support a small business, before the a big business in all areas of purchase provided the quality is there, and the price is reasonable.

JBP would support a group purchase of JP0871 pending five (5) units are sold at one time. We will deduct 13.6% off the purchase price.

To qualify for the discount, all customers who wish to participate will be required to purchase simultaneously.

Thanks,
JBP

Email response from JBP, this would bring the price to $2160 cdn and $1856 usd, I'm assuming this would still be plus tax and from a previous post free install but that has not yet been confirmed.

I'll post some pictures tonight, but there are some pictures of my car from the last meet.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/canadian-mid-east-111/gta-meet-april-2-2006-photos-16386/

picks of the wheel gap start on post #3.

I sit about 1"-1 1/4" lower then the sportlines, the other blue cobalt is on a set. plus with the coils I was able to maintain the natural positive rank angle that was lost with the sportlines.
looks better, and performs better to in my opinion

I got it set at that high for optimal performance, for when I start going to the track,

I was actually origanally going to go for a Spring and Strut combo, with the H&R springs, but I got tiered of waiting for struts, and by being a tester it worked out better by getting the coil overs. especially since i can bring it up for the winter
