My buddy had Sportlines on stock struts and the stock struts blew out. Then he did it right and got Stance coilovers.

I have sportlines on stock struts and shocks. I am happy so far, but I plan on upgrading my shocks in the future.

I bet 90% of this site will tell you sportlines and stock struts will be fine, but those same people probably don't know what a blown suspension feels like and don't realize there's is blown.

Sportlines on stock struts/shocks for now...will either go SS/TC (~$375) or KYB GR-2 (~$200) for replacements next summer (unless for some strange reason I decide to just blow a **** ton of money and buy the Koni's [~$600]...which I may...you never know).

Will the KYB GR-2 Struts alone be enough to hold up with the sportlines? Also can you link me to the KYB GR-2 Struts I would need for my 07 cobalt LS thanks alot man.

I really don't know if the KYB's would hold up much better than the factory FE1 suspension...from what I've read, the GR-2's are similar to FE1/FE3...I believe I read they are closer to the FE3 struts and shocks. I guess in my mind, being that they are aftermarket replacements, they may hold up a little longer than factory struts/shocks, but I don't know.

I would buy them from AJUSA....here's a link to the exact parts:

Shocks (you'll need 2): http://www.ajusa.com/details/KYB-GR-...+Absorber&vq=&

Right front strut: http://www.ajusa.com/details/KYB-339...2198cc+134cid&

Left front strut: http://www.ajusa.com/details/KYB-339...2198cc+134cid&

The total is just over $200 for all 4...they don't charge shipping either and are a reliable seller. They have deals with discount codes quite often, but the majority of the time KYB and a few other brands aren't included.

For reference, I have had my Sportlines on my car for over 10k miles now and so far I haven't had an issue with my FE1 suspension. I'm going to try to make it until next summer (but who knows...if something goes out before then, I'll replace whatever needs replacing...in that case it will for sure be KYB because of time and money...I will spend more come next summer as I'll have more).
