Lowering my 06 ls

I have read for 3 days on this and still have a few questions. I want to go no more then 2" all the way aroung. Here is my Question: What is the cheapest way to make this happen and do I have to buy new struts? Also do I have to do anything special other then just springs. I have lowered lots of cars but I just cut the springs. Thanks for the info. Mark

prokit is your best option, not the cheapest, but all the cheap springs drop further
you do not need to replace the struts right away....

thats the worst thing you could do. A spring is coiled a certain way for a reason

Nothing wrong with cutting springs. But i still dont recommend it, only because its hard to be accurate.

Sportlines will drop you 2" and ride fine. Good quality stuff. ProKits will drop you just over an inch. Cant go wrong with Eibach

Look at the ride height threads, Sportline cars dont sit crazy low.

I have cut tones of spring and never had a problem, but then again I never drove them on a daily driver with struts. I looked at that tread but everyone has 17s or 18s. I am a cheap bastered and just got 15s. As soon as I find out if my tranny is jacked up I am going to drop it. If the trnny is junk, the motor will come out. I always wanted to do a LS1 swap with a power glide.

If you are a cheap bastard talking about cutting springs and riding 15s how do you plan to drop an LS1 just because the tranny is shot? that might end up being a little more $ than your thinking if you are trying to find the cheapest way to lower you car.

And do you have and LS...or an SS...or a Turbo SS...?

Really though, dont cut your springs. spend $100 and get yourself some tenzo R springs. Id say the cheapest way to get a good drop and great ride.
