lowering spring personal opinions
hey guys, i have an 08 ss tc. i am wanting to shortly get lowering springs for it. for me it seems that the sportlines have a nice drop but not too much. is the ride quality still decent with them? i know it isnt going to be as good as stock but i just want to make sure they will still ride ok. i dont care much about handling as i dont race my car. just wanting a nicer look to get rid of some of the wheel gap. its my daily driver. thanks!
Sportlines were going to be my first choice but Ive been told that CM/SSC springs give a similar drop and a better ride-closer to stock feel. They can be had for around $180 new if you look around
cool i appreciate it! I have never looked into those...i will check them out now
sportlines are a waste of money. The ride like crap and they handle like crap. SSC or Pedders are the only real options imo. SSC will give you a bit more of a drop but will still ride and handle like stock. Pedders are the only springs that will actually improve handling over stock, and ride good. Just slightly less drop than sportlines.
I have thousands of pics of a tc with ssc. ZZP sells them
thank you so much for the advice! you definitely made up my mind. i will get the ssc's then for sure. do you know exactly how much it drops the car from stock?
and are they ok on stock struts?

not exactly no, I can tell you that the fender gap is about an inch or so from the tire to the fender. it's enough that you'll scrape the lip every once in a while. FE5 struts are about as good as you get on these cars strength wise, you'll be just fine.
