Lowering Springs

OK, I apologize now, I guarantee you guys are prob sick of answering this question, but I can't really find an answer. I have a non SS model Cobalt (LT) and looking to purchase some loweing springs. I am going more for look than handling, and also since this is a functional car, I regularly have a few hundred pounds of stuff in the trunk (bowling *****).

Would you guys suggest I get the Eibach Prokit for the < 2" drop. I would like to go more, but with that much weight in the back, I don't want to be bottoming out on a regular basis. Also, going with the Prokit, should I change the struts as well, or would I be ok with only the 1.5" drop i should get this this kit.

Thanks alot guys... again sorry for the probably repetitive questions but rather safe than sorry.

I would think that if your always carrying a load than you should change up the struts and coilovers and everything else to get it low but still strong. Have you thought about getting an air ride kit?

Personaly I don't think struts are going to be a big issue unless you REALLY slam the car. tenzos and h&r (someone correct me if I got the name wrong there) are the only ones that would give you that much of a drop. factory struts will last you fairly long time.

Lower the car and you will change your mind about handling, give it a few months and you will want another handling mod, worry about struts then.

If its all about looks for you, and you like the slammed look spend the money and do it right, go with air ride. coil overs might get you the drop your looking for, I'm not sure I haven't looked into them enough.

Eibach Pro Kit, and you shouldn't need struts, if you go with the Eibach Sportlines, the Koni struts make it an awesome setup.

Given your concerns, being you are carrying weight, and wondering about strut replacement, then Pro-kit is the way to go. You won't have to replace anything else, and they will carry a load without issue.
