That's what I was thinking if I buy a set but I plan on staying with my stock shocks and struts until they wear out before I switch in a set of FE5 ones, think that would make a difference in the short term?

^^Also above posted depending on what I find out I'd be interested in your links if your still selling them or they are still for sale.
Yes they will bolt up fine. Just remove your FE3's and put your FE5s on. Im also an 08 Sport on stock shocks and struts but with Eibach pro springs.

Im not sure if its just the placebo effect. But my car felt more responsive and ever so slightly stiffer in the turns.

I have zero regrets buying them and would buy them again.

Yeah dude, in all honesty, I have no clue what they do "better" than stock. I just know that the guy working on my car suggested I get them while I was getting steering rack spacers put on (in which never came)..

Yeah I keep hearing that they will improve your car but nobody can really tell how or by how much. Either way I'm doing it lol.

The moog piece will flex less if any at all. Trust me I was able to flex my FE3 endlink with just my 2 bare hands. Remove that flex and the car will feel more responsive. (only slightly but its a start)

I just got the Eibach Sportline springs for my FE3 setup. They drop the front 1" and the rear 1.3", The Moog FE5s look to be 1" shorter than stock FE3s. My guess is this will help keep everything in line. Everything unbolted except for the front stock FE3 swaybar end links.I can't seem to find a way to keep the bolt from turning when I wrench the nut,Do you have to cut these off or what? Kind of an old thread so I won't hold my breath for an answer.

you have to hold the stock bolt to keep it from turning, sometimes you can get an impact in there and it comes off in one shot depending on how seated the bolt is. but in most cases use a pair of vice grips to grab ahold of the bolt and start wrenching.

On mine we had to use a pair of locking vice grips and then do everything possible to get them off.

Just installed by MOOG links and the car feels tighter then stock. The passenger side link was bad on mine 07 LT soft ride suspension.

i know reviving an old thread, which MOOG links did you go with? I think mine are bad, and just wondered if the FE5's would fit a currently stock FE1 (lowering it later this year)

If your lowering your car run the Moog FE5's as they are shorter.

yes, the Cobalt FE1 and FE3 use the longer links. The FE5 uses shorter links.

However, the Saturn designation is different.

Ions are fe3

I upgraded my Ion to a t/c front bar and had to buy the fe5 links to make it fit.

I used that method. The impact wouldn't even get this thing off. Vice grips on the back part in front of the dust cover and took that sucker right off.

Husky Air powered something or other hooked to a 15 gallon compressor. Nothing special.

I know this is an old thread, but would there be any advantage to putting the fe5 sway bar links on a stock fe1 suspension? would the shorter bars be more beneficial or give better handling?

Back from the dead, again, but I'm looking at Rockauto and I see two different P/N's for the FE5 suspension. K750012 and K80252. Which one is the correct one, if it matters? And I'm on Sportlines.

MOOG Part # K750012 More Info 9.86" Center to Center
Frt Susp; Performance and Handling susp. (RPO code: FE5) $21.79
MOOG Part # K80252 More Info
Frt Susp; Exc. Performance and Handling susp. (RPO code: FE5) $26.79

Here is the link I searched through: 2005 CHEVROLET COBALT SS Stabilizer Bar Link

Edit: Just went over to Autozone.com and their Duralast (house brand name) had 2, one for FE5 (9.86" from center) and one for FE3, no length listed. Clears up some fog for me.
