Has your car been lowered? If so, what springs?

........you do know ANY lowering springs will make your struts blow out faster... eibach or not they will go no matter what...

If your lowered, i would pick up some koni's. theres a GB going on right now, which is like 500 shipped for front and back not sure but you can install them yourself if you know your way around tools.

if your not lowered, i would fight GM and have them replaced as they shouldnt blow... if that dont work, get koni's anyway as there better then OEM

He is beyond the 36,000 mile warranty limit for the suspension components. Strut replacement is actually and easy job. There is a how-to on this forum for it. If you are handy like that, buy the struts and install them yourself. If you want to lower your car, NOW is the time. Buy your springs along with your struts because they are done in the same job.

$600 is actually a fair price to replace all 4 struts if that includes labor. I manage a collision center and it pulled up to be about $750 installed and that's with a $75/hour mechanical rate which is much cheaper than what most shops charge.

for $600 buy a full set of koni's and doityourself. check the how to section its not a hard install just a little time consuming due to the front struts being inserts. tools needed a socket set and a saw suitable for cutting metal like a hacksaw or sawsall( a dremal tool or bansaw works well also ).

Slightly off topic... how do you get 38000 miles in a year? That's more than 100 miles a day... every day.

coil overs are complete replacements for struts and springs and are adjustable in hight but very exspensive. 1000+ if You are short on cash hop on the Group buy for the frotn and rear koni's i believe there less then 580 shipped for fronts and backs. then pick up some ZZP SSC springs. perfect combo. not to exspensive either.

I'm glad I have a 75k bumber to bumber.

Anyways, I would buy the set of Koni's Nice GB going on. Good luck.

well my job was an hour away from my house, then for about a month and a half my work was an hour and a half away. all my friends and my girlfriend are an hour away. and recently i took a trip from michigan out to nashville so that put alittle bit of miles on it. I pretty much spend most of my time in my car. I really wanted coil overs

38000 miles in a year is a lot, but we have a customer who owns a fleet of duramax trucks who put 65000 on his 06 in like..a month and a half.

sorry to get off topic, just get some aftermarket struts or coilovers

Based on your high mileage driving, you do NOT want coilovers. They are a high performance part designed for track use and constant adjustability. You are just packing on miles, which is not what a coilover is for. You will just wear them out and have to rebuild them constantly, costing you a lot of money. Stick with new springs and struts. Much cheaper, easier, and you will be happy. Buying coilovers for your purposes would be like using a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito.
