Need some help with swaybar bushings

I've got an 05 SS.. I'm trying to replace my sway bar bushings but I can't get the back of bracket to slide down in groove.. When I go to put bolt in the front it pops out of the groove.. Is there a trick I'm missing? Thanks

You might have the wrong bushing? Does it close all the way around the bar?

yess indeed, had bought 22mm but I needed 18mm for my car.. so went back to the store and replaced them. Perfect fit.. took only about 10 minutes to replace the other side after that.
