Not bad. Put them in the freezer for an hour or so before installing them.

This will help make them contract, and make them easier to press in.

Also grease them up.

I had a bad time replacing my CAB with a ball joint press. I needed a sawzall for the metal ring (eventually the center of the bushing separated from the ring). I used a vice to press the new one in, which frankly I wouldn't recommend but it works (you have to keep rotating the arm to press each side a little at a time).

However the second time around I used a press at a local shop. It was much easier for both removing and installing, especially installing.

It took MUCH longer to remove and install the bushing with a ball joint press and vice than removing the control arm itself, whereas it took much longer to remove and install the control arm than the bushings when I used a press.

The distinct memory of using a 5 foot cheater bar on the ball joint press and pulling with all my might, sweating my ass off, will prevent me from ever doing that again.

use a press, if you can't find one many tire/lube shops will do it for you for $20-40 if you bring them the bare control arms with the new bushings you want in

I know a local guy does press for $10. I can't wait for my OTTP CAB come in 2 weeks. I've been waiting since Dec 16 that they advertise will be shipped out but not. They are waiting for that guy machine them and I know they are busy cause of holiday.

I had no issues with the ball joint press I used.

In 15 mins, I had the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in.

That's pretty much what I was expecting. It just wasn't the case for me. I'm talking at least an hour of torquing on it with a 5 foot bar, and in the end it just disintegrated before actually popping out. It got me thinking about getting a cheap press since there isn't much to them really.
