Cabs arent hard to install.

Just remember to put the new cabs in the freezer for a few hours. Do this, and they will press in like butter!

What happened to Powell's? Why aren't you still using them?

I had Powell's on my other Cobalt and traded them in to Cruze. BIGGEST MISTAKE that I had ever made. Then got rid of Cruze got Cobalt back last year. I am starting all over, I will get Moog new design CAB and when I have enough money then I am getting Powell's as back up if Moog fail.

No way! Powell's don't go bad at all for 2 1/2 years before I traded in to Cruze. I was looking for better mpg but I was wrong. HELL! I was devastated.

We started shipping the new cabs in January of this year. We have sold 44 sets since then with no complaints but yours. This doesn't make them bad parts. I still haven't seen your parts so I don't know if they are bad. When we talked you were having multiple problems with your suspension if I remember correctly, alignment was changing and I think your rear cradle bolt was stripped or kept coming loose? Without proper diagnosis it's impossible to know if it is the joint that is even bad. A boot tearing could be a defect or could be installer error, it doesn't make the joint make a clunk noise though.

The moog are similar to mine a lot heavier as they have a large steel shell the principle of operation is the same. The rubber seals are rubber on mine plastic or hard shell on the moog. The centre ball joint is thicker wall and higher grade steel to a much better finish on mine and the bearing shell is nicer on mine but the moog has a lot more grease in it and the bearing is slotted to deal that. I have never had to replace any of mine we have been using them for ten years. The race pure monoball open joint spherical ones we made last about a month or two.. .

I will post up pictures when I take them out possibly today. I had no problems installing it in my car and off of my car. I had torque them 145 tq ft pounds.

I had no problems with my suspension at all either from what I had checked.

Some sort of misprint, the moog catalog on the moog website lists it as FE3/FE5. FE1 replacement bushings are rubber.

I think the Moog bushing uses a rubber seal. It's flexible to allow for the control arm to move as intended.

Moog MOOG BUSHINGS & BUSH K200792: Advance Auto Parts

They are sold individually, so you'll need to order two if you go this route.

It looks like it's not a mistake. Someone in this thread: www.g5club.net Moog-K200792-vertical-bushing-on-FE3-lower-control-arms asked Moog about it and the response was that it's not for the aluminum arms. Similarly to the other thread, I'm not sure what they're worried about but it looks like their solution to the FE3/FE5 isn't ready for prime time just yet. I guess it's "use at your own risk" until then.

EDIT: Looks like Toolman is involved in that other thread as well

the press fit is different for aluminum and steel arms. That's the difference.

size of the outside ring i would assume, i dont know whats going on with the part # mixup, advance has it listed for SS but its showing RPO code FE1 lol moog's website the other day said FE5 but now it lists it as FE1 for both style bushings, rubber and spherical. Then there's this post.

Moog K200792 vertical bushing on FE3 lower control arms?

Of course, but if you search for parts for a Pontiac G5 GT, these come up (PN K200792) as being an exact fit. I used these, and they are an exact fit for the FE3/FE5 aluminum control arms. If you search for a Cobalt, they are listed as FE1 only. I believe they are mislabled, because these are not going to fit in the FE1 steel control arms even though they are listed for that purpose.

Got OTTP CAB out. Yeah, It's really bad. Rubber boot split opened and rusted inside the joint. I tried upload the pictures but my frickin IPhone won't let me due to IOS 8 glitches. Josh aka OTTP has the pictures that I send it to him.
