BC Racing coilovers with no rings in the back and about 1.5-2” left to drop in the front. Keep in mind my wheel size(205/15-60). This is the “good side” of my car, as the passenger side panel doesnt hang down as low...lol
As for how i like them....I LOVE THEM. Handles like a champ, look good, easy to adjust. Overall, ive never had coilovers before, but these make me happy. They are the only mod on my car actually, and it is plenty fun for a base cobalt. The ride is what most people would call crap. If i sit on the car, the tires flex and bounce before the suspension moves. But! thats why theyre adjustable! I was never going for ride comfort, and i dont mind how these ride one bit! drove all the way to ATL from Nashville with a fleet of stance cars, and i have no complaints. I believe these are 30 way adjustable and i have the fronts on 26 and the rears on 28, so there is plenty room to go softer. One day i plan to go wide wheel, low offset, stretched tire stance, but that will be some time from now. Install was cake with a full lift, but i imagine with a low pro jack, it wouldnt take too much longer. On the rear the jack doesnt fit under the car, so i drive it up on pieces of wood, but if i had bigger wheels, i feel like this problem would be eliminated.
I bought these for 800 used with ~500 miles and they currently have ~7000 miles and they are the same as when i bought them. I actually took these pictures today and took some twisties so much fun.
My axles recently started making a noise, but for 8 Months low and 66k miles, its time for ZZP Stage 1’s and a Powell Rotated tranny mount. Any questions feel free to PM me or post in the thread. I may have forgotten to put something important in there so let me know hahaha.
PS: this was the last photoshoot ever with the base model body(;

Very nice review...good to hear. I think I'm set that I'll be getting these. I think I would probably go a little softer to start though. I am guessing somewhere around 25 in the back to start and probably 22 or so in the front to see how they'll handle/feel.
Personally for myself...I will want a little more comfort (not so much for my sake, but for my son's sake). Besides, if I do any events or anything else, I can always stiffen them up.
Anyway, good pics, I'm also happy that you have the same size tires I do so that gives me a VERY good idea of what my car would look like...and of course I just have to pretend yours is a sedan to picture mine...LMAO.
The only thing I'm wondering is if you have measurements from middle of the fender to the ground so I can get a better idea of ride height. I probably won't be taking rings out...especially since I have an auto...no rotated mounts...where you have it in the front is probably going to be about the ride height I'm looking for...and I will probably only be going to 225/50 16's when I get new wheels and tires.
Thanks again for posting all the info that you did.
