you shouldn't need an alignment as long as you don't adjust the tie rods, but if you notice your steering wheel is a little off center then it was not lined up enough to make a difference

it hit because its a TC swapped SC with vulcan tubular equal lenght turbo mani so it hangs down pretty low. I didnt have springs yet I just put them on cause my car was already all apart on blocks when its back on the road it will be on Pedders

what size spacers? which brand? if you put them on sock they will raise it higher than normal...so I could see rubbing. After you lower the car install them (the ones made for pedders) and you should be fine.

they were Powells and they are super thick so maybe the pedders sized ones would work but I think i will just leave it so I have some clearance for engine movement

pic of spikes car with the same issue

the issue for stiner is his aftermarket turbo. 5 mm may even be too much. I dont care much for these aftermarket turbo deals but I tell you this Stiner my friend, if you dont insulate the mounts and use the stock heat shield, and make a shield for the rack to protect it from that turbo heat very bad things will happen. Frying the steering rack is not a good thing.

Now if you drive on the street you cant stay in boost contunually long enough, (you would get arrested), but put it on a track more than 1/4 mile I think you are asking for trouble in this case.

if you run a poly mount down there it will simple melt...I have seen that with the early models of our mounts with UHMW which has vastly better heat tolerance than poly...

be careful.....

Gm engineers also said to keep an eye on the brake lines...you don't want to over heat those.

i would think us being gm owners we would at least have enough common sense to put it in neutral instead of grabbing the wheel and screaming like everyone else

i know thats the first thing that i would do. hell it happened to be once in my truck i used to have, gas peddle got caught under the carpet. first thing i did was throw it into neutral and shut the truck off and coasted over to the side of the road and applied e brake to stop

come on John I'd never run a poly mount. Would exhaust wrap work to protect it well enough

what springs are you gonna end up with that determines the bump steer and stuff. Come on over and I can measure the steer for you...

no, use silver reflective material (I have some ) or the stock heat shield.(I have that as well)

I was referring to fakemeanrepresent above you 09TC there is no way with an OTTP rear rotated mount that even .5 inch spacers will cause contact to the rack...

SILVER REFLECTIVE FILM

This silver reflective film reflects up to 950 0F of radiant heat and has a continuous operating temperature of 450 0F. The film weighs about 8
ounces per square yard.
This film has a pressure sensitive adhesive that incorporates a fiberglass backing for strength and tear resistance. There is up to a 150 0F gradient temperature drop across the 3 -5 mil thick film during normal operating temperatures.
This film meets or exceeds the FAA 12-second vertical burn requirement.

Part Number: 1501-26

Standard width is 27 inches. Racer cost is $19.00 a linear foot.

Key Benefits:

Can easily be cut and configured to each chassis style
Easy to repair since it adheres to itself
Lightweight aerospace material
Easy to install and remove

Interesting that hungryhp-ccp posted that he was a tester for the *** mount and the vibes were stronger than standard poly mounts. Hard to imagine what that would be like...
