i have the stock rear rotated mount, i'm on coilover but the coilover has nothing to do with the steering rack touching the rear rotated mount. qwikredline do you know anything about it? just barely touch, but its kinda touching.

NEITHER object moves, when you are driving your car. So if you can get a piece of paper between the mount and the rack (which you should) there are zero issues.

Question is, is it physically touching or just "close"

Thanks for the question directed to me. You are using OTTP parts, not *** parts. Good foryou!

Here are the answers.
the springs you have and the stance you want.determine the amount of bumpsteer and the height you want. 12 mm spacers are for an extreme drop.

You can determine the bump steer by measuring toe in with one wheel lifted 3 inches, (bump) then the car lifted 3 inches ( rebound) and comparing these toe measurements to toe at your normal ride height.

Neither the mount nor the rack moves. So if you have any clearance you are good. 10 mm clears for sure. 12mm depending on the production variation in the exterior housing dimension.

If not, send the mount back to me and for shipping and handling I will exchange it for a billet mount which by design gives you way more clearance... but if you do the bump steer measurement, or give me your ride height numbers I can send you different rack spacers.

All your alignment specs must be done with half tank of gas, no junk in the trunk, tire pressures set correctly etc. If you want to do it yourself cheaply you can do so, just pm me and I can give youdetails. Thanks for asking.

no, use silver reflective material (I have some ) or the stock heat shield.(I have that as well)

I was referring to fakemeanrepresent above you 09TC there is no way with an OTTP rear rotated mount that even .5 inch spacers will cause contact to the rack...

SILVER REFLECTIVE FILM

This silver reflective film reflects up to 950 0F of radiant heat and has a continuous operating temperature of 450 0F. The film weighs about 8
ounces per square yard.
This film has a pressure sensitive adhesive that incorporates a fiberglass backing for strength and tear resistance. There is up to a 150 0F gradient temperature drop across the 3 -5 mil thick film during normal operating temperatures.
This film meets or exceeds the FAA 12-second vertical burn requirement.

Part Number: 1501-26

Standard width is 27 inches. Racer cost is $19.00 a linear foot.

Key Benefits:

Can easily be cut and configured to each chassis style
Easy to repair since it adheres to itself
Lightweight aerospace material
Easy to install and remove

Interesting that hungryhp-ccp posted that he was a tester for the *** mount and the vibes were stronger than standard poly mounts. Hard to imagine what that would be like...
i also said that i went to NBS at the same time, the vibes i was talking about are more at specific rpms now due to the NBS. not the mounts. like now it vibes hard between 2200-2500rpm and 3200-3600rpm. just to clear that up. i had the mounts before the NBS and it didnt do it then.

im not trying to get in the middle of nothing. just stating the rest of the facts.

this is the confusion. The thread and the original post is about OTTP rack spacers... *** rack spacers according to the pictures on the *** web site have a recess which was an original unique design from OTTP. I have no clue about their thickness, but if *** copied the recesss it stands to reason they made them the same thickness as the OTTP ones.

The other issue is that the TC does not have rotated rear transmission mounts, they are just a different design insert. So that is the confusion for the mounts. As far as the *** rack spacers, as much as I would like to, I am not sure that it is fair to OTTP for me to help someone that uses *** parts.

That said, however, my position has always been to talk straight, and I try to help folks who want to be helped, and you sent me a PM. So I will help you via email so you can sort your car out and make it perfect, just lets leave *** out of this OTTP thread. Thank you.

not bad, I just needed to understand what you have. If you have slammed your car on coilovers, to get the lowest possible stance you want you will need, I am guessing, about 12 mm of spacer, and the rear mount should be lifted to clear; an OTTP stage 1 mount set up is inexpensive and will give you the clearance you need.
If you do not use rack spacers, the car will still be sort of okay, it just wont like driving through ruts, bumps and power on accell as much...you have my email if you need help, enjoy your ride...
