actually those are the type of tires i was looking into getting and possibly nitto neo gen or general exclaim uhp (for the price the general does great, which shocked me). we put the ecsta spt on my friends eclipse. made a huge difference in handling, so much that he now likes going without the power steering. before, it took every once of strength to turn the car, now he turns it with one finger without power steering. i knew his old tires were crap, but wow.

do you have to install with it off the ground just like the front strut bar?

Don't ever you tackle some twisty backroads? Hech, out where I live we practically have our own touge's, lol. (Touge= twisty mountain pass, commonly associated with drifting, originates from Japan)

Sportlines and this sway bar = KICK FREAKIN ASS. My friend has a whole sway bar set up, coil overs, strut bars and an H brace, and his feels like driving a go-kart. My car feels almost comparable to his with just these two.

Oh and im running General Altimo tires, there actually really really good for the price, so far like 1000 miles on them and their still perfect traction through rain and dry

So now on its 5th page I still don't know if a front strut bar will help any with the springs and rear sway bar.

im waiting for the fronts to settle in. they probably are now after this crazy trip to florida. but last i measured a bit over an inch up front and dead on 1.8" in the rear. it looks like the fronts dropped down now though.

but a front strut bar will give good feel. i noticed my car seemed solid up front after the install. i gave it a good shake, and car moved one way and right back where as before it had a wave action to it. my problem is, i installed it first, so i only know how it feels with stock suspension which was a pretty big difference. not sure how it feels after springs and sway bar.

I just got mine today, I was really looking forward to getting it in and having a dramatic change.

First off was the install, progress defiantly lost points with me there. the holes in the bar didn't quite line up with the nuts bolted to the plate. They did fit, but not well. I can understand an after market part not fitting perfectly, that is the after market parts not fitting the car. this was 2 parts from progress that just didn't fit together. What should have been a 2 minute project turned into a 15 minute fight.

The initial handling feels a little better, nothing dramatic but the car does feel a little more solid. For the most part I like it. Then I found an empty parking lot and decided to really see what kind of a difference it made. After doing an autocross without the bar I thought playing around in a parking lot would give me a good feel for what kind of difference it made. The car feels more balanced, the under steer I had is gone. But the car is much less forgiving. It takes a little more to get the tires to squeal. before once they started to squeal I knew I could push the car a harder without losing control, I could really push it a lot before I lost control. Now once the tires start to speak up its time to back off, not push a little harder.

on the street I came to a light that was about to turn red, there was no traffic around so I was comfortable pushing the car a little. I hit the turn and the tires started talking to me, next thing I knew the rear end was trying to trade places with the front. without the sway bar that never would have happened.

for normal day to day driving, especially on the highway its a good mod. I don't know if its worth the money but its still an improvement. for autocross, I don't know yet. I am running the factory tires (and I'm not replacing them until they are gone) so its not really fair for me to say. I was much more comfortable without the bar, and thanks to the understeer it used to have I could push it much harder. It seems to me like I will loose control sooner now than i would have before. BUT the car is better balanced.

I'm thinking this bar plus the 2.4 front sway bar would be ideal.

I have a 2.2 sedan with ssc springs.

The verdict is in for me.

a few weeks ago i did an autocross race without the sway bar, I finished dead last, other cars in my class ranged from 72 to 75 seconds, the 2nd to last person went a 79. I ran an 85. I was nowhere near being able to keep up with anyone. I was 13 seconds away from first.

I had a race yesterday, my only change was the rear sway bar. the course setup was close in a lot of ways, first place was 55 seconds, most people were 56-59, I ran a 62. only 7 seconds away from first.

Thats a huge improvement, I'm still far from being competitive, mainly because i'm running the factory continental tires. If I could have competed in H stock, where i would be more evenly matched, I would have finished 4th.

I had someone ride with me on one of my runs, he was hitching rides from anyone that would let him ride, he said he had about 12 rides so far for the day. He was impressed how level the car stayed through the turns compared to everything else he rode in (he did say a new z06 vette and lotus elise felt a lot better) that was a good bit of feedback from someone that doesn't know the car.
