quick question before fe1 to fe5 install

I have an 06 LS. I am on my way to pick up ss/tc fe5 struts/shocks and pedders. Do I have to get the shorter ss/tc end links (would get Moog) for the sway bar? I will be using the stock LS bar. I though I read that I would need them but dealer says they are not needed. Thanks! I'll get pics up tonight

Good thing you didnt buy shorter ones. Shorter ones will screw up your sway bar bushing and cause it to make noise.

Use shorter ones if you upgrade your sway bar to FE5

I did and I have a lot of noise. Guess I will pick up the fe1s in the morning. I also think I didn't line the tab up correctly on the top hat which may contribute to the clunk. Looks like I have some fixing to do.

What if you're lowered a considerable amount? FE1 endlinks seem to be too long for me

I felt the fe1 links had the sway bar dropping below the control arm with the fe5 struts. I did end up running the sc/tc links and mine is quiet thus far and the bar position seems correct. I have about 100 miles on the setup. I used the Moog Part No. DW-K750012 (250mm)

I ran with the FE1 links on eibach sportlines and FE5 suspension with no noise or anything on my old cobalt. Eventually I went with the Fe5 moogs though.

Could be CABs or just that the end links arent tight enough. I've driven like 20,000miles on a combo of SSi springs (damn low for springs) with Koni Yellows, then switched springs to Powell's YYZs with the FE5 endlink and have no front end noise. A friend of mine on his SS/TC (stock FE5 shocks and endlinks, and I think HHRs) had clinking over bumps, so we tore into his front end and low and behold the endlinks had loosed up (or he didnt tighten them down correctly) re torqued the bolts the noise disappeared.
