Im replacing my passenger side axle. When fitting it in the intermediate shaft you have the splines in the bracket and then the splines in the actual shaft. It seems as though the c clip on the axle is going in as far between both set of splines, leaving only maybe a half inch of splines on the axle to connect with the intermidiate shaft splines. Is this normal or should it fit farther in?

 

it should fit as far as it takes to lock it in place.

 

If i were you i would replace both. I snapped my driver side and replaced both just so i didnt have to worry about the other one
