Are the mounting holes on the cobalt shocks 5/16 of an inch?

If you give me some time I could get a measurement. Do you meant the bolt holes?

well tried to use a tow strap to hold the shock to the height i was looking for and had no luck. anyone think this is because i have fe1 shocks not fe5.

does anyone know of a smaller rear shock that will fit our cars

my understanding is that you adjust the height using the springs not the shocks...assuming you have coilovers. but i am probably wrong lol

u r wrong lol ; with cheap ass one size fits all coil overs , you have to adjust the length of the body (ugh) to get the ride height desired, then preload the spring (ugh) to try and get some shock travel.
sucks.

real coilovers work exactly the way you said, because the length of the shock body and travel of the shaft is designed for the vehicle application.

= 5 to 7000 dollars,
