Unhappy Rear spring insulators

I've had a squeaking noise coming from the rear driver's side of the car, whenever I go over any bumps (large or small). Doing some searching, yields a problem with the rear suspension insulator, with p/n 22729411.

Unfortunately, searching for a reputable place to buy this, has been discouraging. GMPartsDirect will sell it to me for about $64/ea. and $16 shipping . I have had all sorts of problems getting the right parts from them, so I would rather not go there. Dealer wants $109 for the same part, so that's out.

My question is, am I correct in assuming this is the right part to fix my squeaking issue? When looking at some of the diagrams of where this part actually is in the suspension, I get some conflicting results. Some put it on top of the spring, but I've also seen a part with the same part number that goes in the rear axle control arm.

I have been referencing this post:

Some input from anyone who's done this install, would be greatly appreciated.

If you look in that picture it's sitting inside the top of the spring. I don't have then anymore. They got ripped to hell a couple of spring changes ago.

I think CED has them. Checking.

I was also referencing this diagram from Tonkin (not sure how reputable they are):

SUSPENSION/REAR. Fits: Cobalt, G5, Pursuit | Tonkin Online Parts

The 22729411 part, seems to be #20 on this diagram. Though, from other's description, I thought I was looking at #1 in the diagram which obviously has a different part number altogether.

I'm planning on doing shocks at the same time. I'll probably just install AC Delco, as I don't mind the stock ride height and comfort. That, and I live in Toledo, OH. So going lower/stiffer really isn't an option, if I want to keep my dental work.

In that picture #1 is the upper. They tear easily and is probably the one you need. # 3 is the lower. It's not going to tear. It's made if some unknown materiel that mortals cannot tear.

number 20 is the bushing that attaches the rear axle to the car. It can wear. It's not easy to change and it doesn't frequently need to be changed.

Welcome back Tom.

I've abused the hell out of the lower. It has nary a mark on it. The upper? Ya, that rubber-rawhide-whatever it's made of tan stuff is loooooong gone.
