Removing Heatshield

Has anyone removed their heat shield with any issues? Im on B&G's and I scrape pretty often. This causes my heat shield to become loose which makes the heat shield rattle like there's no tomorrow when I am playing my subs. It seems like the heat shield comes loose every 4-6 months and I have had screws put in the heat shield countless times to tighten it up.

Soooo, my question is, can I remove the heat shield w/ no issues? Or is it protecting something that will get damaged easily if I scrape w/out the heat shield on??

Thanks!

What's behind the heat shield? The cats and exhaust get pretty hot. I'd want to keep that heat out of the car.

the heat shield is on the very bottom of the car....it basically stretches from wheel to wheel front to back and it covers everything behind it so I cant see....

I'm fairly certain no one has any idea what this heat shield you speak of is(not trying to be a dick, just trying to help answer your question), post a pic that might help. Because all that I can think of the goes front wheel to back wheel and between drives and passenger side is the unibody frame, which shouldn't be loose or rattling

Mine did get bent up and rattled but I fixed it. I wouldn't remove it. Unless you want to potentially melt or start a fire from the heat. Not saying that would happen for sure, but it keeps a lot of heat from going to the floor of the car. I'd leave it on, and fix it better.
