v.2 of the YYZ will be available in November. I will let you know what the drop will be. Vanden Nars asked about it, and we have been looking at the engineering need to acheive it. Not prepared to say what it will drop to yet. Please remember, u can have drop, but at the end of the day the compromise maybe for travel and handling. If I am able to do miracles, maybe we can have it all, but it wont be as low as the lowest and it wont be as cheap as the others...

Current YYZ have proven to be the best track spring by far, and the best ride by far, if I beleive the customer feedback, and I do. So we got a high bar setting to do better. Working on it.

Yes they do, that was one of the neat things about it, the rear rates on the competition are so low they really do squat, and u can see that on launch. YYZ dont do that as they are progressive and as they trim higher at the rear its noticeably better off the line.

Ok well I guess I'll just wait then to see how the new version is...although I feel like it'll just be a copy of pedder. Will that be the outcome Powell? If it's just a copy then it won't be worth it, considering pedder springs are only 230 for a set. Hmm darn. One more choice this will make it harder to decide.

One thing for sure YYZ Springs are NOT A COPY of Pedders. Here is why:

YYZ are:

progressive. Pedders are not
way higher solid load. Pedders have less solid load than stock springs
way higher rate range . Pedders are linear front and rear , so not progressive and less rate than stock.
way better spring wire material. Pedders material is regrettably not very good.
made in America. Pedders are not.

so. Copy? No. Do they fit a Cobalt? Yes. does not make them a copy.

ps. OEM springs are linear front, progressive rear.

oh, and one more thing? Customers like them.

Will v1 still be around? I'd prefer a bit higher than pedders, and I trust you got it right the first time.

I'm sure they'll still make both springs. The lower trim ones will never handle as good as the current ones is why.

FWD drag cars are an terrible, so as they are different, they like the weight transfer forward, so you lock the front down and raise the rear up. The rake with YYZ helps that. The almost 1000 lb solid load helps as well at the rear, the car wont squat at the rear on accelleration. The nature of a well made progressive spring helps for ride. You dont need Koni's. U want them.

NO Black Friday sales this year unless Gloria has a surprising change of attitude to this. In the past we have done Black Friday pricing for some items all November, but I think given the market place and things as they are etc, those days are past. We do our best to make our parts reasonably priced and thats it. But who knows, email Gloria with your request and ya never say never....she has been known to do specials for military folks, she appreciates the service to your country.

So just to be clear it is the YYZ V1 that would be the best set of springs if I want to drag race my car once or twice a year and do regular street driving? Will there be a newer version coming out in the near future?
